What Sets Us Apart

"Healthcare investment boosts both employee productivity and morale. Investing in disease management and prevention is a change in philosophy that improves the long-term health of your workforce." David R. Tate, Chairman & CEO, Primary PhysicianCare

Caring patient advocacy:
Our goal is to provide more professional medical personnel support per covered employee than any of our competitors. Our medical staff consists of physicians (from internists to pediatricians), registered nurses, nutritionists, fitness trainers and wellness consultants. They provide counseling and education for our members with chronic diseases, helping them navigate through the healthcare system and achieve healthier lives.

Commitment to innovation:
Primary PhysicianCare always allocates a percentage of income to research and development. That investment in the future has allowed us to grow at a rapid and manageable pace. In 1995, we launched our unique and proprietary Healthgram web-based software, which pools all of a patient's medical information into a single source. It is a vital tool for use in patient consultations and for assisting members in their healthcare choices.

Enhanced accountability and communication:
Our Care Management System powered by Healthgram operates totally in house; we do not outsource to other companies so we are more accountable and responsive. This allows our members to make one phone call to Primary PhysicianCare and get answers to all their questions.

Exceptional efficiency:
Primary PhysicianCare’s infrastructure emphasizes our medical staff. As a matter of fact, the number of people on our medical staff is greater than that in our claims department. This large in-house medical team is an integral part of the claims process—a service not available through large health insurance companies. By the time each claim is paid, it has been evaluated at three levels:

  • Contemplation: Our Care Management System permits our medical team to assist each patient with informed choices about their care.
  • Delivery: We monitor a patient's care much like a physician does when making hospital rounds. This is to ensure that what is being delivered is what was contemplated.
  • Audit: Each claim is scrutinized to ensure that what was contemplated was actually delivered and is billed appropriately.

Increasing return on investment:
Our team gets to know our clients and their valued employees better over time, forming an environment of trust that improves efficiency and results. Our track record reveals the longer a company is associated with Primary PhysicianCare, the lower its healthcare costs.
